Today the 3DS is released in stores across the USA! Coming in 2 colors Aqua Blue and Cosmos Black.
The Nintendo 3DS is the only handheld portable device that can currently play games in 3D. It’s the key feature of this device, because you don’t need the glasses to see it in 3D. It comes with 2 cameras for 3D photography another camera in the front for your face. It has motion sensing, enhanced graphics and screen resolution for new games, better controls for navigation and precise movement and a larger screen.
That’s pretty good for a handheld gaming device. Ever since the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo has taken the lead in creating motion sensing devices and games, this time, staking it a step further with 3D.
The new games that can be purchased with have better graphics than the latest PSP, but that’s not stopping Sony. Sony is coming out with the NGP which is said to be on par with PS3 graphics and have 3G broadband. The carrier is unknown, but it has a chance at passing the 3DS in sales and popularity.

The 3DS is a good handheld gaming system, but with Sony’s NGP it will probably steal the competition. First we have to see what else the NGP can do, because the NGP sounds extremely expensive which can be more than the 3DS which is only $249.99 USD. The NGP has Ps3 graphics, 3G broadband, Touch screen, and more.
Adding all these features together, the NGP should well exceed the price of a 3DS leaving the 3DS the market share for consumers with lesser gaming budgets.
All we can do is sit and wait for the NGP or give in and purchase our 3Ds‘ and play until the time comes for Sony to release the NGP. Supposedly it’s said to to be released this Holiday season.
May the best handheld system win!

The 3DS’ featured like 3D camera and other sensors have won me over. 3D without glasses alone is huge! I wonder if Nintendo has been offered by screen/monitor companies like Sony to license their 3D without glasses technology to enlarge it.
I think 3DS will have more sensors and more innovative hardware where the Sony NGP will simply follow the same old, bigger faster stronger approach with faster processing speeds, better graphics and 3G which is huge. But 3D is going to become standard and if Sony doesn’t add this to their device, I think they’ll be in a loosing position here.
Nintendo.. will always be ahead B)
